TOPSOIL AND GARDEN SOIL

Topsoil is the upper, outermost layer of soil, usually the top 2 inches to 8 inches. It has the highest concentration of organic matter and microorganisms and is where most of the Earth’s biological soil activity occurs.  Our topsoil mainly comes from the Helena valley.  We screen and add a mixture of sand and manure.  Sand prevents clumping and manure adds nutritional value to the material, great for building any yard. Our garden soil is the same thing as our topsoil but with added 5% compost to enrich it even more.  Garden Soil is great for flower beds and gardens.  2000 lbs/yard

 COMPOST

Compost is decomposed organic matter. Composting is a natural process of recycling organic material such as leaves and vegetable scraps into a rich soil amendment that gardeners fondly nickname Black Gold.  Compost is a super rich material that is used to enrich existing soil.  900 lbs/yard
